Meet Our Intern, Sara Fields

We welcome the arrival of intern, Sara Fields, from The Art Institute. She will be working with Studio2Gallery and Tina Weitz Photography through December. Sara came to us via instructor, Polly Chandler, who is one of our favorite Austin area photographers. Sara has been an immense help organizing for the East Austin Studio Tour, working on location, and setting up the new space. This image is from one of our visits to ASmith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas. We managed to get a few minutes in to visit the local pony and do a little iphoneography.

E.A.S.T. Tour Application – Approved!

Yes, we are official. (Insert smiley face here with exclamation points.) Here is the scoop. Be there or be square, because this is one cooool event.

Studio2Gallery is showcasing contemporary art with 14 artists “Eastside” in our new East location on Martin Luther King. For the E.A.S.T. tours, artworks will be exhibited in Studio #1 and also in the adjacent O2 Gallery Space. A reception with the artists to kick off the EAST events will be Saturday, November 12, from 6-8pm. Artists include: Leon Alesi, Jill Alo, Tami Bone, Debbie Buie, Channe Felton, David Johndrow, Barbara Lugge, Chalda Maloff, Maggie Norman, John Sager, Carol Schiraldi, Mo Scollan, Oscar Silva and Tina Weitz.

Hours:
November 12, artists reception, 6-8pm *open to the public
November 12 & 13 and 19 & 20 from 11:00am – 6:00pm
November 16, 17, 18 from 12 noon to 5pm

Announcing Studio2Gallery E.A.S.T Feature Artists

It will be here before we know it, E.A.S.T. tour 2011. Our application has been turned in, and we are hoping it will be approved by the panel for the tour. We are pleased to announce our feature artists that will be exhibiting for our Studio2Gallery debut in November at the new Martin Luther King studio location of Tina Weitz Photography. When the studio is not in use by artists, the studio transforms to a 450 square foot gallery exhibition space for thematic exhibits.
