Whew! Sorry, the posts have been stale.  We’ve had more work on the studio space (darkroom is sooooo, close, thanks Hank). We’ve had lots of events.  I’ll see what I else I can update soon.

Message from Space has continued to provide groovin’ music and guest artists.  We thank Craig Davis for coming to play, once again.  Here we show his not often seen side, reading poetry.  Intense. Witty.

Thanks for all the donations we have received so far at studio2gallery for the Williamson County Animal Shelter Heartworm Fund.  Many items from the wish list have also been donated and we will continue to take donations and wish list items through July 17, 2009. So many friends gathered to share their love of art and love of animals at the “Creature Feature” reception.  I was sorry to hear our friend, Ara the Pig, had passed. Her companion, artist Aralyn Hughes, shared this tribute of the “Keepin’ It Weird, Pig About Town”:

“That snorting, snoring, sassy pig and I were  bonded for almost 17 years.  I will never see the world in quite the  same way, forever changed by her presence in my life.  She understood that wisdom and joy could be found by smelling and tasting, rooting around below the surface. We also had a guest appearance at the artists’ reception of “Tulip”, the cockatoo, who recently performed in one of Austin’s Ballet Performances.  She had to go home early to get to her cage before dark, but we appreciated her saying, “Bye Bye” to the crowd just like a professional.

Only in Austin.

arriving to Austin

The evening before the performance, the Austin skies reverberated color for Gentle Thunder’s arrival.

I woke up this morning reflective of the four white flowers on my kitchen table. Amazing. They had been part of Gentle Thunder’s alter the night before.  They were white with green trimmings, and I immediately felt the white light and oneness of our green planet experienced last night.  Then I thought, how appropriate – of all the flowers I handed to the ladies that evening it left four in the vase for me.  A rose for each symbol of seasons – of my life reflections during the energy of the music.

We were fortunate to have so much creativity and loving guidance.  Gentle Thunder had the vision of Roxann Pierce’s “Aftergow” in front of her hammer dulcimer as she played. Roxann was also there – and the circle of energy entwined.

If you don’t know, I love sea turtles.  So I delighted in the design of this flute, and the voice it resonated.
